Ankara Painting and Sculpture Museum
The construction of the Ankara Museum of Painting and Sculpture, designed by architect Arif Hikmet Koyunoğlu, which was established in 1927 AD, began on Namazgah Hill as the headquarters of the Turkish Stoves Company and was completed in 1930 AD. In 1975, it was allocated to the General Directorate of Fine Arts at the Ministry of Culture for use as a museum for painting and sculpture. Today, the museum houses the entire collection of the Ankara Museum of Painting and Sculpture; Presented in a historical context from the Ottoman Empire to the present Republic, from the 1960s to the 1990s to the present, the museum also reveals its strong representation by hosting distinguished works of art in rotating exhibitions held every year.
