The history of the hill castle dates back to the thirteenth century, and it was rebuilt during the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, as the first castle was built on Sittwe Hill at an altitude of 681 meters in the thirteenth century, as evidenced by archaeological excavations that took place in 1967. A coin dating back to Stephen V was found. As for the castle, the ruins of which can be seen today, it dates back to the period between 1464 and 1484, and it was a complete fortification of the city, and many of its effects can be explored, represented by the towers, gates, walls and streets that connect between the different sides of the castle.
