12 November Earthquake Monument

On November 12, 1999, 48 people were killed and 353 people were injured in a 7.2-magnitude earthquake in the city. A memorial to the earthquake was built by the famous Azerbaijani sculptor Said Rüstem for those who lost their lives after the earthquake. The "November 12 Earthquake Memorial and Museum", which includes six museums and a memorial, was opened in 2001 AD, and has since become one of the most important memorials in the city.
