Description of the place
The Metropolitan Museum of History and Archives is located in the recently restored old firehouse. This museum is dedicated to Mr. Ahmet Piristina, the former mayor of Izmir who died in 2004. It was opened by the municipality only a few months before his unexpected death. It contains This well-organized museum contains pictures, drawings, and explanations about the history of Izmir from 3000 BC to the present day.
