The museum is located in the Hejaz Railway Station in Anbariya. It includes halls containing many artifacts and galleries for visual displays and old photos, in addition to the Hejaz Railway Museum, which contains artifacts related to the Ottoman train, including wagons and engines. The Hejaz Railway Station in Medina was established within the framework of The project of the Ottoman Sultan Abdul Hamid II to connect Istanbul, the capital of the Ottoman Caliphate, to Medina at that time, with a railway passing through the Levant, where the first train arrived in Medina in 1326 AH / 1908 AD, and a special celebration was held on this occasion. The museum consists of 14 halls that display the history and heritage of Medina from the prehistoric period until the modern era, as follows: Museum lobby, Medina’s environment and its natural history, Medina before Islam, Medina during the Prophet’s era, the wives of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and his sons , Muhajirun, Ansar, The Noble Prophet’s Mosque, Medina during the era of the Rightly Guided Caliphs, Medina during the Islamic eras, Medina during the era of the first Saudi state, Medina during the era of the second Saudi state, Medina during the era of King Abdulaziz, urban heritage.
