Al Jassasiya Rock Carvings
Al-Jassasiya rock carvings, or as it is also called Jabal Al-Jassasiya, is an archaeological area with distinctive inscriptions dating back to prehistoric times, and includes residential ruins and pottery remains (from the fifteenth century) in northwest Qatar. Carvings in the fossilized sand dunes include geometric shapes, animals, and ship shapes. This mountain is the largest rock art site in Qatar, with more than 900 carvings scattered over 580 numbered sites.
