Description of the place
Nizwa was once a major center of Islamic learning, and two of the oldest mosques in the world have survived from the early 7th century. The castle is one of the largest mosques in the Sultanate of Oman, and it is characterized by wonderful architecture with an authentic Arab character, and includes a large dome and a minaret.
