Al Shawadhna Mosque

Al-Shawadna Mosque is a historical mosque in the city of Nizwa, located between the residences of Al-Aker neighborhood, south of the city’s castle. It dates back to the first half of the sixteenth century, according to the inscription carved on a plaster mihrab, which refers to the year 1529 AD, which makes it one of the oldest mosques in the Sultanate of Oman. And that this mosque is an irregular structure consisting of a courtyard, a prayer hall and an ablution room, and it is not decorated except for a decorated mihrab on the qibla wall of the prayer hall.
