Al Shouyoukh Mosque
It is called the Al-Shuyoukh Mosque (the Great Mosque), and it was called the Al-Shuyukh Mosque in exaltation and appreciation. The book “Qatar’s Mosques, Their History and Architecture by Dr. Mahmoud Ramadan” states that the Al-Shuyukh Mosque belongs to the mosques of Qatar in the second half of the twentieth century AD. This century witnessed the emergence of many styles of planning Mosques in Qatar amounted to about seven architectural styles, the most prominent of which was the style on which the Sheikh Mosque was built, influenced in its planning by the major Ottoman mosques such as the Sinan Pasha Mosque in Istanbul and the Muhammad Ali Mosque in Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi Citadel in Cairo.
