Al Wajbah Fort

Al Wajba Fort is located 15 km south of Doha and was originally a building in the late 18th or early 19th century during the reign of Sheikh Abdullah bin Jassim Al Thani. Its historical importance derives from being the site of a famous battle in which the Qatari people defeated the Ottoman forces in 1893 AD, and from being the residence of Sheikh Hamad bin Abdullah Al Thani in different periods. The fort has rooms on the ground floor and an upper floor and is famous for its four watchtowers. It has been restored to its original condition after many restorations.
