Description of the place
Al Koot Fort, also known as Doha Fort, is a historic fortress located in the heart of Doha, Qatar. Built in the year 1927 AD during the reign of Sheikh Abdullah bin Qassim Al Thani, the castle was recently turned into a museum that displays some of the traditional Qatari handicrafts, products and pictures of daily life with illustrations. Exhibitions of artworks, handicrafts, plasterwork, wooden ornaments, fishing gear, boats, historical photographs and paintings including oil paintings of craftsmen and daily life are held in the castle.
