Alte Kirche

This church is the oldest historical building in the small town of Lungern, and it is not considered a church at the present time because what remains of the church is only its high tower. The church was built in the thirteenth century, and in 1989 a staircase was built for the tower consisting of 78 steps, and the tower has served as an observation platform since then, as people visit it to obtain stunning panoramic views of the vast green fields in Lungern and the ancient buildings.
