Animal Wall
wall extending along Bute Park and presided over by 15 animal carvings bearing feelings on their faces and appearing as if they were trying to escape. Designed by William Burgess in 1866 and built in 1890 AD, it was painted in natural colors, although the paint on the statues had been removed. The animals presiding over the wall are: a wolf, a lioness, a seal, two lions, a wild cat, a bear, a baboons, a hyena, a pelican, an anteater, a raccoon, a leopard, a eagle, and a beaver.
