Ao Phang Nga National Park was established by royal decree in 1981 to conserve marine life in the region. It covers more than 40 islands in the Andaman Sea, including Kao Veng Kan, known as "James Bond Island", and is famous for its limestone rock formations. Rising from the turquoise Andaman Sea, many visitors come here to enjoy the scenery and take part in water sports. Diving, snorkeling, swimming, kayaking and island hopping boat tours are popular activities in the park.
