Archaeological Museum of Izmir

The modern museum was opened on Halil Rifat Street in the Konak region in 1984. The museum includes exhibition halls, laboratories, warehouses, photographic rooms, libraries and conference rooms, which have a combined area of about 5,000 square meters, with more than 1,500 artifacts on display. The exhibition is organized in different floors and halls containing artifacts from the ancient city of Smyrna as well as from the surrounding archaeological sites.
