Archaeological site of Grotte di Catullo
It is an archaeological area containing the ruins of a Roman villa dating back to the end of the first century BC and the beginning of the first century AD. It is located in the far north of Sirmione on the southern shore of Lake Garda. The area was one of the archaeological groups nominated for the 2017 Academy Awards. The castle is surrounded by many picturesque natural features of water and green spaces planted with olive trees. There is also a historical museum near the villa, which houses a rich collection of discoveries and artifacts.
