Baan Tawai Village

The fair takes place in Ban Tawai Village which is located about 16 km southwest of the old city in Chiang Mai. For this reason, it is not surprising that locals refer to the fair as the Baan Tawai Village Woodcarving Gallery. Needless to say, this village is the focal point for wood craftsmen from all over Chiang Mai. The Wood Fair also features plenty of other activities including cultural performances, a wood carving competition, a cooking competition, as well as the sale of handcrafted items. Visitors will be able to get close to wood lovers and watch these artists while they make and carve these intricate pieces and how they decorate them.
