Balkan Wars Memorial Cemetery in Edirne

The memorial cemetery of the Balkan wars, with its tombs, memorials and statues, stands as a witness to the memory of the Ottoman soldiers who departed in defense of the city of Edirne when it was besieged in the early twentieth century. The statue of the Unknown Soldier is the most prominent feature that can be seen when visiting the cemetery. Tombstones that preserve the names of many soldiers, fighters and military leaders can also be found.
