Basing House Palace
Located in the village of Old Bissing in the English county of Hampshire, the 16th-century Basing House rivaled Hampton Court Palace in size and opulence, and once hosted the many royal visits of Henry VIII, Elizabeth I and others. Although today only its foundations and earthworks remain, it was once home to the Marquess of Winchester, William Paulet. This mansion offers guided tours that provide important historical information, and organizes fun community events.
