Bechtler Museum of Modern Art
The Bechtler Museum is a 3,390-square-foot modern art gallery that is part of the new Levin Art Center in Uptown. This museum specializes in displaying works of art of the mid-twentieth century. This museum is named after Andreas Bechler, a Swiss citizen, who used to reside in Charlotte, who collected, and inherited a collection consisting of more than 1,400 works of art, from the works of well-known artists of the period of modernism in the twentieth century, which are now displayed in the museum. The museum also opened its doors to the public in 2010, and has been one of Charlotte's leading art museums ever since.
