Bo-Kaap

Bo-Kap is one of the most exclusive neighborhoods in Cape Town, and there is so much to see and explore in it. It is located between the center of Cape Town and the foothills of Signal Hill, and was named after the Afrikaans phrase that means “over the head”. Today, the neighborhood is known as one of the most popular in the country, thanks to its pastel-coloured houses and picturesque cobblestone streets. In addition, the neighborhood is one of the oldest and most historic residential areas in Cape Town, and most of all it is synonymous with Cape Malay Islamic culture which evidence of can be found throughout the area, from its halal restaurants to the sound of the call to prayer emanating from the mosques.
