Bourke's Luck Potholes
The raging waters have created an eerie geological site that looks like something out of the cover of a progressive rock album. Here, facing the Blyde River and the Trewer River in the Mpumulanga region of South Africa, thousands of years of water erosion have created a unique geological feature, the Porky Lock Craters, which is an impressive network of Tunnels, tubes and interconnected rotating ponds with different soil levels in each hole, giving each one a unique color and creating a wonderful and colorful landscape. The formations got their name from the prospector, John Bourke, who was one of the first to announce that the area had deposits of gold and various minerals!
