historical tower dating back to the thirteenth century. It was built initially with the aim of monitoring and protecting. It was placed on the Osnabrück city wall. The tower was later also used as a torture chamber during the period between the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. The height of the tower was originally 28 meters, but due to its exposure to ruin, ten meters were removed from its height in 1805.
