Cambridge Museum of Technology
The Cambridge Museum of Technology is an industrial heritage museum located in Cambridge, England. The original building, a scheduled ancient monument housing a sewage pumping station and waste disposal station, was built in 1894. Cheddar Lane Pumping Station originally opened in 1894 in a scheme that also saw the creation of a sewage farm in Milton. On the farm the rubbish of the houses was used as fertilizer to grow crops that fed the horses that pulled carts that collected the rubbish and transported it to the pumping station. Even ash from burnt rubbish can be used to make roads.
