Choijin Lama Temple
masterpiece of 19th- and 20th-century architecture, the Choijin Lama Temple was built by Mongolian architects between 1904 and 1908 by order of the 8th Bogd Khaan Janzandamba as a dedication to his brother lama Luvsankhaidav. The temple contains an impressive collection of wood carvings, appliqués, embroidery, and carvings dating back to the 17th century, along with Buddhist art paintings, including paintings by Zanabazar, a famous religious reformer and great artist of the 17th century. Colorful masks, bronze statues of the gods, silk tanks, and many other antiquities.
