Church of Procopius
The only remaining Byzantine church from the late antique period in Jerash, located in the eastern half of the city. This church was erected in the sixth century under the supervision of an officer named Procopius, in the days of Bishop Paul. It consists of a central nave and two side aisles. It is one of the few remains unearthed in the eastern quarter of ancient Gerasa. The church is distinguished by its archaeological and historical features, which made it a place worth visiting.
