Citadel of Qaitbay

Qaitbay Citadel is one of the best tourist places in the city of Alexandria, as it is located in the center of the country with a direct and amazing view of the Corniche. This castle was built in 1480 AD by Sultan Qaitbay on the site of the Pharos Lighthouse at the mouth of the eastern port, with the aim of protecting the city from the Crusaders who used to attack it by sea.
