Columbus House
Columbus House is one of the most attractive buildings in Las Palmas, with ornate doorways, beautiful balconies, a large patio, and carved wood ceilings, representing many aspects of the island's architecture. This palace was the residence of the first rulers of the island and Christopher Columbus allegedly stayed there in 1492 while one of his ships was being repaired, hence the name. It houses a historical museum, which displays many of his possessions, including his drawings, journals and photographs.
