Name of the place
Conciergerie
Conciergerie
It is an old royal palace that has a very interesting history. It has been converted into an antique hotel, where you will see ancient French decor and furniture since the Middle Ages, although a few rooms are furnished until now. The present monument only forms part of the former palace of the Capetian dynasty. As Charles V stopped using the palace in the 14th century, he decided to set up his law courts here. At the end of the eighteenth century, many prisoners held by the Revolutionary Court were held in the Conciergérie, including Marie Antoinette.
