Coudenberg Palace
Built on the foundations of medieval palaces with excavations on display, the museum and archaeological site is one of the most beautiful palaces in Europe and one of Charles V's principal residences. This prestigious building was severely damaged by fire in 1731 AD. Forty years later, the ruins of the palace were demolished and the ground was prepared for the construction of the new royal quarter. The remains of this palace constitute the archaeological site of Coudenberg, which attracts many tourists to the city every year.
