Diyarbakir Archeology Museum
The Diyarbakir Archaeological Museum displays most of the Hittite, Assyrian, Roman, Byzantine, Artuqid and Ottoman artifacts from Diyarbakir and its surroundings, and artifacts belonging to the Neolithic period are also displayed in the region. The number of archaeological and ethnographic works in the museum exceeds 10,000 works and objects. The museum - which opened in 1934 - continued its activity in the Sankariya school - which was built during the reign of the Artuqid ruler Salih Mahmud (1201-1222) - to date. The museum moved to the new building in 1986.
