Downing Street is a 200-meter long street in London, which includes the official residences and offices of the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, and is located a few minutes' walk from the Houses of Parliament. It was built in the 1680s by the Irishman Sir George Downing. It is also worth noting that the term "Downing Street" is used as a synonym for the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, or the British government in general.
