Eastern Mebon Temple
The East Mebon Temple is a Hindu temple built by order of King Rajendravarman II in the 10th century. It features a collection of stunning carvings, sandstone stupas and animal statues, as well as brick shrines. The base of the temple is decorated with stone carvings. In the form of elephants, it is surrounded by earthen slopes indicating that this temple was never completed and is a visual evidence of how the temples were built.
