El Cantador Garden
This garden was called the El Contador Garden or the Singer's Garden because it was owned by a young man, Jose Carpio, who devoted himself to the development of music and encouraged the population with his songs, and was known as "the El Cantador". The park was established in 1898 with four gates, a kiosk, two fountains, and a duck pond. Formerly a plaza, the park was the meeting place for Guanajuato residents who were awaiting the arrival of relatives who would travel to the city by train.
