El Chico National Park

El Chico National Park is a protected area in the state of Hidalgo, and it is one of the oldest protected areas in Mexico, as it was established in 1898 AD. The park, which covers an area of approximately 2,739 hectares today, is filled with pine, oak and juniper forests. The park presents the city with a unique scenic beauty due to its mountainous terrain, covered with active river drainage and covered with abundant fir forests, all of which form a natural mosaic integrating outstanding and distinctive physical and biological features that are reflected in scenic geoforms such as cliffs and valleys.
