Description of the place
Eldred Rock Lighthouse is located in the middle of Lynn's Aqueduct. This lighthouse, along with nine others like it, was commissioned after a string of deadly shipwrecks in the vicinity, the most famous of which was the shipwreck of the Clara Nevada which ran aground at Eldred Rock in February of 189, caught fire and sank. , killing 75 people; It is also believed that hundreds of pounds of gold were lost in the disaster.
