Faid Historic City
The historical city of Fayd is the most prominent archaeological monument in Hail, and it is located along the pilgrimage road that extends between Baghdad and Makkah in the path of Zubaydah, who was interested in developing it, and she is the wife of Harun al-Rashid. The city is frequented by many visitors, both tourists and citizens. The city occupied a distinguished position in the pre-Islamic eras until the beginning of the Islamic eras, and the village consists of the ruins of a huge palace and a number of structures that can be identified as halls. There is a museum near the city. A permit from the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities is required to access the entire site. Without the commission’s permission, only the museum can be accessed.
