This mosque was an old Byzantine church, built in Amasra Castle in the 9th century. It was converted into a mosque during the conquest of Amasra by Fatih Sultan Mehmed in 1460. Although it is one of the churches that perfectly reflects Byzantine architecture, it has been restored. In the periods that passed, after it was converted into a mosque, which changed the originality of the Byzantine design, but this mosque, which continues to preserve its historical value, is a unique tourist destination.
