Former Monastery of Astino

Astinou Monastery is a former Roman Catholic monastery that was built in the Astinou Valley around 1070 AD. It included a church in addition to a group of buildings that were used as monasteries at the time. It was later converted into a psychiatric hospital, then used for agricultural purposes, and there were attempts to convert the historical building for commercial purposes. But it failed and remained as it was until it was restored in 2015 and turned into a tourist destination to learn about the history of the region and see the remaining ruins.
