Description of the place
Located in the English county of Hampshire, Fort Nelson is one of five defensive forts built on top of Portsdown Hill in the 1860s, overlooking the important Portsmouth naval base. This Victorian fort will take you on a journey into history with its high walls, original fortifications, vast grounds and underground tunnels. There is also a national museum that includes more than 700 pieces of artillery from all over the world.
