The Fustat Center for Traditional Crafts and Ceramics is located in the Fustat district of Cairo, and is famous for producing ceramics and pottery from before the Islamic conquest of Egypt in 641 AD to the present day. The building consists of workshops, lecture areas, galleries, glass rooms, offices, a multi-purpose hall, and guest rooms for artists. The main objective of establishing the center was to preserve traditional crafts from extinction and to train a new generation of potters and craftsmen ready to acquire these professions.
