Gardjola Gardens
The Gardens of Gardjola were planned in 1551, as they are distinguished by their wonderful panoramic view, which overlooks the Grand Harbor and Fort St. Angelose. The gardens also contain palm trees, which would provide a place to relax under the shade while enjoying the wonderful view. The gardens also feature a beautiful guard tower built on the edge of the forts. The guard tower contains many symbols carved in such as the eye, ear and crane birds, which represent the guardian force protecting the Maltese shores. The eye on the tower is also a popular symbol representing Malta, as it has appeared in many brochures about the island.
