Gayer-Anderson Museum (Bayt al-Kiritliya)

This museum houses artifacts collected by John Gayer Anderson, a British member of the Egyptian civil service in the 1930s and 1940s who restored two adjoining sixteenth- and seventeenth-century houses decorated with mashrabiyas and marble fixtures after they had fallen into disrepair. These two houses originally belonged to Muhammad bin Al-Hajj Salem and Mrs. Amna bint Salem. This museum contains many wonderful artifacts, old furniture, paintings, statues, chests, and many more.
