The Goa Gajah Cave is an archaeological site and an important Hindu temple in the midst of green rice fields on the island of Bali. It is famous for its amazing stone carvings of Hindu gods. It is known locally as the Elephant Cave. Its entrance appears in the form of a demonic mouth, around which many local legends revolve, as it suggests people to enter the underworld. It is believed to date back to the ninth century.
