Golden Lotus Pond

The golden lotus pond is located within the Meenakshi Amman Temple complex, and it is one of its most beautiful, rare and distinguished features. In this pond, the golden lotus flower of Indra bloomed to perform the pooja oath, and it is believed that it bestows blessings on the surrounding waters and even purifies from sins, sins and evil spirits. Pilgrims bathe in the waters of this golden lotus pond on Amavasya (new moon), the first day of every month, eclipses and other auspicious days.
