The Great Al-Husseini Mosque is one of the oldest mosques in Amman, which was rebuilt by King Abdullah I in 1932 AD on the site of the mosque built by the second Caliph Omar Bin Al-Khattab around 640 AD. Since its founding more than eight decades ago, the Al Husseini Mosque has been the connecting link between the downtown area of the capital and an important gathering place for people from all walks of life. It was characterized by a huge architectural design with spacious internal and external courtyards.
