Description of the place
The Torres Cave is the largest lava tube in Portugal, with a length of 5,150 meters. It is part of the Lagedos Formation included in the volcanic mountain complex on Madeira Island. It is estimated that it was formed about 1,500 years ago by a volcanic eruption that originated in Capico Bravo, and it can be visited via a trip Exploration that allows viewing different types of lava and many interesting geological formations.
