Hamidi Mosque
The name of the Hamidi Mosque goes back to the Ottoman Sultan Abdul Hamid II, and it was built by the Circassians in the year 1887 AD, after they took the city of Jerash as their site. This mosque is considered one of the mosques of great importance in the ancient city of Jerash, as Roman ruins wrap around it from the north and west sides, and the mosque overlooks the Roman amphitheater and the Colonnaded Street. In the past, a Roman canal crossed it, and it accommodated 1,500 worshipers. Its minaret, which takes the shape of a circle, is about 15 meters high. It's a really cool place where you can pray inside and take great souvenir photos outside.
