Herschel Museum of Astronomy
This museum is a one-of-a-kind example of a modest, fully restored Georgian townhouse. The building was home to the astronomer and musician William Herschel and his sister Caroline, and the museum celebrates his astronomical holidays. Particularly exceptional features of the museum include Herschel's workshop, his music room, and a charming 18th-century formal garden where Herschel discovered Uranus in 1781 with a telescope he built, and an introductory video informs visitors of the significance of this unique museum.
