Ibrahim Muteferrika Paper Museum
The first paper house of the Ottoman Empire, the existence of which can be proven by official documents, was established in the village of El Melek in Yalova. This paper mill, which was run by Ibrahim Muteferrika, was considered the first printing house in the country. Muteferrika realized the importance of local production of paper. which was a completely imported product at that time. At this museum, visitors will be able to produce their own papers in the production workshop, as well as information boards created on topics such as paper history, production, preservation, paper arts, book history, and librarianship.
